Description As Books Skinhead... The Life I Chose: Memoirs of a Real Skin
This is a true account of the skinhead cult, told by a man who was really there and still is. It is NOT about Nazism, or Neo-Nazism, and definitely not about politics; it is the story of how the ebullience of youth can be corrupted and misinterpreted by propaganda and the media.Warning
This story contains a lot of strong language, British slang and outspoken opinions that may be offensive to some; it is nevertheless the truth.

Felt like it was the same story over and over; drink, fight, cops come and either go to jail, get off, or get away. I was hoping for something more out of this book other than a recollection of fights. I considered not continuing a few times because the material was so repetitive but I push on hoping for more and was left disappointed. My review is already posted. A conflict of accounts they say, but I only had one account. This was my review - A lesson in Skinhead culture with memoir type tales that will have you smiling and thinking 'Ouch' at the same time. I have never been a skinhead but have always been intrigued about this group. I have people I know who have been skinheads although they sometimes appear aloof when they knew I am Mod at heart.Spike went below the surface and gave me a view from all angles. Very much the good the bad and the ugly and was very enjoyable. I hope you weren't one of those Skins who chased me through Lilywhites in Oxford Street circa 1980 though Spike lol.Great book and loved that Spike put his heart and soul in to
