This one was shaping up to be my favourite of Snyder's Glass series, which I haven't been enjoying nearly as much as the Study series. Opal, the main character is just whiny, and never seems to learn from her mistakes. Still I was liking this one. One of my favourite characters from the first book was back, there was plenty of action, and Opal finally seemed to be making some progress towards finding her place in the world and becoming an empowered young woman.Then in the last 100 pages it just

A truly sad disappointment. Having loved the Study and other Glass books I was so looking forward to Spy Glass, but it's a jumpy, confusing and overwrought muddle of a book. Good to see that Opal had a comparatively happy result, but what's with the "I hate Valek" when he did so much for her? This book wasnt horrible, but I did have issues with certain plot points, and the rest was pretty boring.Opal irritated me in this book because she (view spoiler)[ cheated on her boyfriend! Twice!
