Whoever said that UF was dead (or dying) must have read the wrong books. The Shadows Inquiries series is one of the best around. It has all the landmarks of the genre (kick ass heroine, angst, grit, monsters, federal agents and cops struggling with the truth) and it never repeats a cliché. Or better it makes them fresh.Ms Benedict is a master at writing: she includes pieces of the past in the narrative without a glitch. And even if you don't remember what has happened in the past, you can read
Decent urban fantasy series about a PI who's kind of mean to everyone around her as she charges blindly forward... And this is the last book of the series - everything tied up pretty well at the end.
